I had borrowed a 15 watt version of that amp, for 3 years, and I really liked it.
So much so I bought a MG 30, with the fx on it.

I have a lead 15 head Im running into a HARTKE bass speaker -- thing sounds HUGE --- in a small room (no it wont beat a drummer-- no it wont "cut through a mix" -- no it wont play a stadium or even a bar--- but I am not doing a single damn one of those things) -- so for what I AM DOING its AWESOME MARSHAL floor thumping GOODNESS!

For argument sake the Peavey 112 Bandit and the Mesa Subway WILL Play a bar-- and cut through a mix and beat a drummer --- unless its Kieth Moon or Bonzo --- so there .....and neener neeener --

Knowing that John Fogerty recorded many great songs with solid state (Kustom) amps, I can't knock it.
A great guitar player can play any guitar through any amp and still sound great.
Interesting indeed...
I like how my Blackstar ID-core 100 sounds (direct out) on a recording. Its a very good studio amp, but leaves a lot to be desired live.
When i play my pair of DSL40C's live, i notice how great the tone is, how quiet my rig is and how the amp responds to pick attack.
The DSL40C - for me - is just so versatile, lightweight and fits in the trunk of my daily driver Mustang.
I have played through many, better, more expensive rigs, but mine is always quieter and has that little edge that i find missing.
Our sound guy friend (Kurt) commented yesterday on how quiet my rig was and how clean it sounded until i really dug into it.
I guess the DSL40C just works and i have no need of anything better...
