Guitar arrived safely, packed well (more bubble wrap and cardboard than i've ever seen).
Intonation was off, not sure previous owner actually plays guitar. Fixed that, plays in tune now.
Yes, made in China; neck feels very similar to a Chinese-made Classic Vibe, i suspect made in the same factory.
Matte finish looks good, no chips, dents, or buckle rash. frets are in good shape, still need to polish them though.
The neck pickup sounds great, not so for the bridge unit. No real "bite". Currently discussing a custom idea from Ken at Rose pickups. Gonna keep details under wraps for now, but trust me, this is gonna be sick.... (in a good way).
Can't say whether the entire Modern Player line from this particular series is MIC, i *think* there have been two different M.P. series. Where ever they're from, if they're all this well made, definitely worth checking out.
The truly weirdest thing? i got my first actual Fender guitar at age 67, and it's made in China......

Yeah, SGs are nice, have a few myself (4). Prefer teles, though, got seven so far, search daily for "just one more...".
