I want a new fuzz pedal...

After some conversation with @ivan H I decided to mod the Fuzz Face and ordered two CV7003 trannies (not cheap). Something struck me today though, the CV7003's are PNP transistors and I don't know if the ones in the Fuzz Face Mini that I intend to mod are PNP or NPN but I suspect the latter, I'll have to check tonight. If that's the case I'll probably build a new pedal from scratch or simply replace the board in the FFM.

I never got the hang of using fuzz, and never really dialed in my 2 Fuzz Face builds, 1 Ge, 1 Si.
gotta fool with them some more when time allows.

While I'm glad I have my job, I would have the time to follow up on a whole lot of things that need finishing or tweaking.
I wouldn't mind getting paid to stay home a few weeks.

She's (just guessing here) one of those boutique ones? I've spent a packet of coffee and some gas money on two of them (plus thousands on the upkeep by now):

The first one can get insanely loud, but overall she's calmer than the second one who perhaps has a more pleasing tone but is a lot more temperamental.

You paid too much. Like all the other feral cats in this house, my wife trapped this one in a dumpster at the airport (where she works). Totally agree on the overpriced maintenance fees.

The wife has strict instructions for the future of that guitar if I go first. Java gets first crack at it, then a really good friend.

Why ?? once you go EF86 you'll never turn back

I love the idea of throwing pentode creaminess in front of a Hiwatt or Marshall. It’s like adding an early AC30 input stage. I’m surprised that an EF86 version was never made back when BK Butler or Chandler were making Tube Drivers. Great pedal to have in your bag when you arrive at a club to find the back line being offered are all clean amps.
