I think I need this

So how long would you guys wait before openjng the case? It is chilly out about 5 degrees F around minus 15 C. It just spent most of the morning in a cargo hold and truck.

I personally never wait. Can't count the number of times I've taken a guitar out of a freezing trailer straight into a gig and pulled it right out and tuned up - not like you can wait for them to acclimate in that circumstance. And while I have never had a problem that's no guarantee: I just have no frame of reference for how long it would take to be 100% sure.

Me too but a new guitar that spent all day in the cold? My vehicle is heated. The Wildwood dude said a few hours. Is that 3? 6?
Do the 4 hrs. If its warm its good

Checking usually only happens involving extremely cold temperatures. I just happen to talk to someone today that this happened to.

5 degrees is pretty dangerous. Do not open it, as you probably won't. I always take it out of the box pretty early-on because it's a wasted layer to wait on, I think. The key is to do the hand tap trick by having the guitar unlatched and quickly opening it to touch the guitar real fast before getting out quickly again. Don't begin doing this until the case hinges and the case itself are feeling nothing more than maybe ..cool.
