is it a 50's era Fender -- NOPE-- but for the price difference -- it is DAMN GOOD ENOUGH for me---

I was surprised at the build quality -- its a very nice bass-- all the cavities are painted with shielding -- its very quiet (hum wise) -- the small frets make it play damn near effortlessly

the pole pieces in the Duncan are at least TWICE as big around and the WHOLE pup was taller so had to REMOVE some foam from the stock cavity -- that little 1 hitter is a RIPPER

I mean, you can, of course, take the orange thing I put in, as well. Though, I’m not sure you’ll need it. If not, maybe the next guy can use it.

I used the US spec original Electrosocket and fitted a Switchcraft jack to his MIJ Telecaster as the original jack was in bad shape. Removing the funny clip gives the added benefit of being able to simply remove the two Electrosocket screws and service the jack if needed in the future. Normally with the clip in place you have to remove the control panel and take the jack out that way, after disassembling the jack cup on the outside. It pulls out with needle nose pliers and makes a satisfying noise when it hits the rubbish bin

The first video is much more useful but the second one does show how the clip is in there. Best thing is just to pull it straight out and use a nice Switchcraft jack and the StewMac socket

It is a nice touch Godin makes their Jacks the same way with the lock and screws, on their Factory guitars.
