I ride my bicycle...

Went for a quick boot up to the sports fields on Sunday. On the way this flag caught my eye... Seems it is a symbol of well being, luck, and prosperity in some Hindu cultures...

The girls were dominating the fields today...

Kids enjoying the pump track...

With dad about to launch...

Looking West on the way home...

Yesterday offered rain all day, sometimes torrential. So... today being a break in the weather created an opportunity to get out. I wondered if the Nemesis puddle was born or in infancy so headed down the greenway to find out.
Starting to feel like fall. Wasn't sorry that I added a vest to the garb. Leaves are starting to fall providing a lovely crunchy sound every so often...

There were headwinds on the greenway and I felt like ramping my cadence up to compensate...

What the... Am I dreaming?!??? Somebody pinch me! I have not seen the tide in for what feels like years! Dayum... I'ma go buy a lottery ticket!

Water break, and no barriers this time. Perhaps they are finishing up...

And heading home. Could have dropped the vest on the way back, but left it on. Good run and kept up a 20kmh average speed which even with a stiff headwind at the beginning was not bad for me on this bike...

Yesterday I decided to hop on the bike to go get a prescription filled.
After that I felt like doing more, so headed down to River Road just to poke around. Didn't really go far, just tooling around... cuz...

Fraser River Pile Driving ship...

View of Alex Fraser Bridge...

The land under the bridge is recognized First Nations...

These guys use these incredibly agile boats to arrange logs in the river along the shore to be used in the cedar mill...

View from an overpass looking West...

Yesterday turned into a Tour de Delta in mixed cloud/sun. Mostly cloudy...

The slough at Deas Island Park is oddly empty on a Saturday...

OK, now I know why there was yellow tape across the entrance to the Millennium Trail...

Along the "Barns to Beaches route...

What... again?!!???

Alternate route took me by this old 1891 church on Hwy 10...

Water break at 32kms in Watershed Park...

Today I went out for a spin around the hood, and stopped for some "supplies"...

Yesterday was absolutely gorgeous but getting cooler. Needed two layers plus a vest. Wanted to take the long route to Mud Bay, so headed out on the road East. Temp had just cracked 12C when I left...

Hard to see, but this hill gets a bit steep. Ended up getting a top speed of 56.7kph even in a headwind...

Stopped by a small Park on Colebrook road...

A whole slough of ducks...

Back on the road heading West...

Mount Baker...

Twice in a row?!!??? My luck is changing it would seem. Highest tide I've seen in years. Nice to see you Mr. Pacific!

The loonies are out...

Water stop, and although the day is cool and the winds were up this spot was calm and I could have dropped the vest...

Heading home...

Welp... Yesterday I helped my son map out a route to his new workplace he'll start at in about 3 weeks. Need to cross two bridges (Alex Fraser and Queensborough), and some possibly very/too busy roads.
Mapped it out with Komoot with slightly different routes to/fro.
Then we headed out to test it. Approx 14 kms each way. I wanted to do exactly what Komoot offered just to experience it so used the phone app for turn by turn (what a battery hog).
Learned a section that shall not be repeated on the way, so an alternative was chosen for next time. Same thing on the way back as well.
Had lunch at the destination.
On the way back, heading down the hill on the South end of the Alex Fraser I misjudged a sharp corner and smashed my left elbow into the solid metal railing at 35kmh.
Luckily I was not gripping the left grip too hard as my arm flew back with the impact, and my steering wobbled a bit before straightening out.
The impact was harsh and I knew I was going to pay for that blunder later. Made it home after about 5kms whilst uttering a few obscenities.
Good thing my grip was loose, otherwise the impending wipeout could have been a spectacular mess, or worse.
It didn't take long for the pain to set in. I gradually lost most of the mobility in my left arm. Topical pain relief, Ibuprofen, and a couple of beers later I could tolerate it, but mobility was kaput.

Not supposed to look like that!

This is the only picture, as we were motivated to do a time trial of the commute. It truly does not represent the feel of the injury.
In any case, that was my first ride in the last 3 weeks or so, and I paid for it, Lol! No rides for me today, and the weather is even nicer!
Dumba$$ Dave...
Slightly better today, swelling down a bit, mobility up slightly, pain down slightly. If that trend continues I'll avoid a visit to ER. So... pretty sure I didn't break anything (hey I can even type two handed now) Hoping I didn't crack/fracture anything. My guess is a very bad sprain.
IDJITS R US!
Oh, and forget playing guitar...

Been weeks since my last ride. Crappy weather and making sure my smashed left arm healed enough. The weather cleared today so had to try it out.
Just a shorty at 13kms but didn't want to push it anyway.

Just a boot out to the sports fields...
Small park near home...

Greenway heading south, road still wet from the rain...

Fields were busy as usual...

SFC having a Christmas do...

Another field closer to home...

Left arm felt OK, no worries, no pain. We'll see what tomorrow brings. Left around 10C and when I got to the first field I wanted to spark up the heated gloves. Left worked, right not. Got home and am testing the questionable battery. Hopefully it just discharged. It's on the charger now...

Welp... I thought I saw a 2 hour window of opportunity today to get out for a ride. Figured I'd go for a supply run just to make the short ride worth it.
Rain had ceased and the weather app said I had a chance, so what the heck...

Out on the streets...

Nicer bike path on this side...

Unfortunately, after gathering said supplies I came out from the store to find it raining...

And it got worse...

Got home drenched, but accomplished the goal.
And just what would get me out in 6C very windy and unfortunately rainy conditions? Well, it's game day baby!

Took a while, but I'm dry now...
