... but I might.

Just saw this today, I can't test it out, it's not cheap (although it might be decent value?), I could buy it in the UK and get it sent to my parents house - the wife will never know; well...

It's just the, THE, one guitar I've always wanted, and if it's as good as my 2018 junior then it'll be worth the price.

2019 limited edition:

Gibson USA 2019 SG Special in Faded Pelham Blue - andertons-cas

Only $1550 $US...

Having said that, I paid that for my SG junior and it's worth every cent (penny).

They've made similar stuff from time to time like the 2011 SG classic and the 2016 SG standard, also there was a SG special 60s without the binding, but not too often that these 60s style specials with the binding in white of pelham blue come out - there was the Pete Townsend ltd ed version.

Here's a 1969 SG special, batwing, at about US$3500:

A 1966, angel pickguard with the vibrola type thingy (better off without that?):

I looked around ebay, saw some Custom Shop versions (not Pelham Blue), in average condition for about US$2500. This one is nice:

Couldn't find a Pelham Blue.

I reckon, if these are made as well as the 2018 juniors, that they'll sell out really fast and hold their value well.

SG with P-90s... a classic tone!
SG with wrap over bridge... another classic tone.

Hard to pass up, except for the price. I'd be inclined to wait for Gibson to mark them down
later, but given Gibson's corporate troubles, maybe it's best to get one right now, don't wait.

I did that as soon as I heard that Gibson was in trouble... sold some older gear and bought
myself a Gibson J-45 AG, made in January 2018. I've had my J-45 for six months and have
NO regrets.

So if you felt like you had to pounce on the 'one guitar you've always wanted"
I would understand perfectly. Your wife might not, so you should include some
money in the budget to buy something for her that she's always wanted.
Then you'll be even, and not in the dog house. Good luck and good hunting...

Hey, Colonel...

Gettin’ crazy with a cut capo, I see!

so did you order it yet?

Yeah,

a few beers and it was done. I will send pics once it has arrived at my parents place and they've sent me pics... It may be 6-30 months before I play it, but it will always be there waiting for me...

I now have 2 out of 3 of my holy trinity. I want a sexy 339 then I am out! Just like this one:

bought
myself a Gibson J-45 AG

That, Sir, is absolutely gorgeous!

ou only live once!!! Do what makes you happy and never look back!

You speak wise words, Sir.

If you can afford it, jump on it! Since it is a limited edition, I suspect it will sell quickly and might be hard to find at a lower price later.

Most respected member, I believe you are correct. Not many (if any) 2018 juniors available nowadays...

Buy it. I wouldnt get a Trem on a SG that has a wrap around bridge. The bridge rocks around ect. Get the Pellam Blue one

You, me, same same, hot dog, baby.

I really like everything about that.

You know your stuff, my friend.

You didn't expect a "No don't buy it !" from this crowd did ya? Buy the damn thing muey pronto...

:)

Hmmm, hard to argue with that.

I would be close to dying though, knowing I wouldn't be able to play it for that long!

On the upside, the wife is very far way from complaining to me about it...

&, why are you reading this rubbish thread when you should be playing that fantastic tele of yours, in that beautiful house with your lovely family while drinking amazing beer!

Here we go, for the non-believers (maybe that's mainly me?):
