I just can't leave well enough alone...

Thanks for all the comments.
I have to agree about the Floyds being & looking cool.
It was one of my first thoughts...
But this trem floats so nice now, with only 2 springs & holds tune just peachy.
I can pull up a halfstep & dump till the strings go limp.
The locking tuners eliminate extra string wraps around the post that normally befuddle trem operation.

And that term "trem" for vibrato bugs me, but seems to be an industry standard misnomer.

After two weeks with this guitar I've really grown to like it.
My pickup & switching combo gives me 25 humbucking tones.
However many are very similar sounding.

Series humbucker seems to deliver the fullest tone out of the Triple Shots in neck or bridge.
Parallel humbucker is still full sounding but with weaker output.
Combinations of the individual pairs of coils give a similar result, but vary in tone slightly due to mounting positions.
Adding in the middle pickup to the neck or bridge pickup make for decent usable tones. Positions 2 & 4 on the five way switch.
Then pull up the push pull to flip phase on the middle pickup & positions 2 & 4 turn into a funky hollow sound.
Similar to a Strat with a RWRP middle pickup, but with a lot more presence and volume.
Cutting coils on the quadbuckers with the middle out of phase adds even more tones, just not as powerful as the series setting.

The only combinations that are missing is being able to have all pickups on at the same time and neck & bridge together.
Which would be doable with another push pull to put neck & bridge together. Then with the five way in 2 or 4 I'd have all pickups on.
It may happen...

Ha ha… I'm right there with you Mr Hack! That type of pooop bother's the wee-wee out of me, too...

Why did Fender called this system a Tremolo? There's gotta be a good story behind this...
