Sounds like the $50 Commercial Target Tilematic Tile/Masonry saw I got at Goodwill Restore. It had the MAIN parts of a $1500-$2k saw setup. I figured out how to gather the rest of the necessary parts to make a complete and working unit.
First order of business, plunk down the $50 and put it in the wife's SUV as fast as I could before it grew legs like Cador's Laney did.
Second, Scour the web for a deal on either a complete unit, or as many cheap sources of the missing parts as needed. Turns out a Consignment shop had a whole setup for $300.
Third, Get lucky again, and after about 2 years, I find another whole complete setup for $90.
Let's just put it this way, to have 3 saws with heavy Baldor 1.5+ hp motors, 3 Folding leg stands, 2 Water tubs, 2 Sleds the tiles travel thru the blade on, 3 Diamond blades, 2 pumps and 2 corks ( LOL the hardest part to find) all for under $450 I definitely did not want to let any moss grow under my feet.
The only things I really was missing from the $50 unit that I underestimated what they actually charge for new parts was the water tub, and sled. At the parts houses those things add up to $400-$500 just for those.
LOL Thread derail much?
