This guy seemed to like them.... yeah, that's going a little outside my 'traditional' thing, haha! I've actually thought about putting a Tele neck on my Strat to have a 'different' headstock on there, but the neck pocket is different, of course. Whatever floats your goat, though.

My ‘08 G&L ASAT Bluesboy. In the 80’s, the ASAT’s had the short bridge plates that did not support the bridge pickup. By the 90’s, they went back to the old full sized plates but kept the the six bridge saddle arrangement. I’m assuming this was a decision by old Leo. Leo passed in ‘91. Anyways… Resonates and sustains like a mofo!!

You know what, I appreciate all the replies and advice, but I don't think I want to put any more money into this guitar.
Now I'm fighting with the neck pickup, it's very bright and plinky. The bridge pickup sounds great now, but the neck pickup sounded better with the other bridge. It sounds ok paired with the bridge pickup, but the bridge pickup sounds better on it's own.
I can see this rabbit hole opening up and I really don't want to go down it!
I think I'm just going to remove the neck pickup altogether and just rock the bridge pickup with some Esquire wiring. I had the cocked wah mod before and I liked it. I already have a blank pick guard.
