I Dropped A Guitar Today:

It would bug me beyond description, but you are probably right...now, is this a proper fix???

LOL
I know this is a older thread but "Greenie"
One of the most popular vintage Les Paul's has had the neck repaired at some point since 1959 but Kirk Hammet still payed a million bucks for it. I would to if I hit the lottery. Lol

You are correct, Sir!

Compared to my 2021 Gibson Les Paul 50's Standard Gold Top, i find nothing that i could improve upon, so there would be no legitimate reason to build one.

What about your Stagecrafter guitars? Do you have any of those left or are they all gone?

Frankly, I'm a little puzzled why you don't play that as your regular ax as it was your design and development to begin with.

The StageCrafter was supposed to be the perfect blend between Telecaster and Les Paul. Several session playes that i knew spoke of how they would like a Tele with a baseball-bat Les Paul neck.

The StageCrafter combined Les Paul construction methodology (maple/mahogany/maple body) with a 24.0" scale length, one-piece mahogany set neck, that is 1.00" thick all the way from the 1st fret to the heel, with twin humbuckers, coil split, 180 degrees out-of-phase with my own design of treble shaping tone control, and fully shielded.

It was fairly successful amongst local session players. All total, i made and sold 28 of them.

Marty Stuart has one, Nashville session player David Langley has one and our own esteemed @DonO has one of them.

It never was something that appealed to me personally.

When you consider how badly this neck was broken, it didn't turn out bad at all. Sonce its a performer's guitar, i made no great effort to conceal the break.

Just make it strong and functional.

You can see the split on the back of the neck, but you cannot feel it.
