I did something ...........

SO SP8ctre --- I blame you (of course) trading an SG for a CARVIN ----ballsie--- but well done .......and --- well
Ya know what T-60s in prime condition do NOT come along every day----- honestly--- Gibson is spitting out more SG's now than EVER--- so.....gotta STRIKE when them Irons are hot boys.

Smitty has witnessed that focus....my eyes glaze over.....speech, slows.........quietly........zone in........ and POUNCE!!!!----

lol

Actually THANKIS JERRY for taking me up on my hair brained "HEY WANNA TRADE" offer ;)

And a Vega with a V-8!

Did you say V8 vega??? I used to build those for fun in my garage.... :)

(Hijack Alert)

Me and the 302 Vega 2002.jpg 302 Chevrolet.jpg Closest to the Dial In (2).jpg 12 Seconds in Street Trim.jpg 302 Birds Eye View.jpg Custom 4-Link Adjustable.jpg Race Car in the Garage.jpg S-10 Axles and Buick GN Brakes.jpg S-10 Brakes on Vega.jpg T-50 Vs.jpg

Sorry, Adrian...I couldn't resist!!!! Once you fix the bad brakes and suspension, the Vega wasn't a bad car.

I bored a 1958 283 Truck block .125" over to 302 CID and used 11.25:1 pistons with 350 '883' cylinder heads. I used a Ford (1-5-4-2-6-3-7-8) firing order with a custom mushroom tappet camshaft ground for me by Bullet/Ultradyne in Olive Branch, Mississippi. The transmission was a rare T-55 with first all the way to your leg and back - leaving 2-3-4 & 5 in an 'H' pattern. The 7.5" V8 Monza differential held 3.73 gears. Front brakes were from an S-10 and S-10 2WD axles were modified to work with the 7.5" Monza differential and Buick Grand national Brakes with finned aluminum drums.

The trophy speaks for itself...so do the 3 behind me on the cabinet.... :)

Look just to the left of the fan on the wall in the 7th photo. That's my black, narrowedd and tubbed 1972 Vega with a 427 FORD.

THanks jjudas......its a SOUTHERN THANG ;)

So Robert--- perfect color on the Vega as well. I actually started to do that with a Chevy Monza........got the MOnza (cheap) with the 4 banger......before I could get the conversion done a 90 (not kidding) year old lady ran a stop light and REMOVED the entire front end of my Monza ---with her Coupe Deville..........man I was pissed.

SUCKS!!!!

OH and proper credit to one GASKET--- for giving me the confidence to make this "risky trade" as he has agreed to a 50% split of the spoils and the "rights" to play the guitar at his leisure whenever he is "in the hood" ---so to speak.

SO --- grab some cold ones and head this way Mate!

Don't even ask about the 1967 Pontiac Firebird I could have also had for $500.

Robert, why did you say F GM in another thread when you used to do all that with Vegas?

A T-60!?!?!

And, not just any T-60. It has the zinc nut, unlike later versions which had a plastic nut, and it has the blade pickups.

The jealousy is strong, right now!

Seriously, many, many congratulations. That is a great score. I'm very happy for you!

Thank you Sir :)
Tres Zinc nuts Smitty -- all three T-series are festooned with a de ZINC ;) Tis one of the INITIAL criteria I scan for prior to pouncing .....

Now...we need to lay some ground rules...you are FORBIDDEN from ever flipping it!

What a fantastic piece of history. Plus, it would be better in a bar fight than an Telecaster! That's not easy to do.

Well-- the best bar fight weapon is her sister Betty Lou behind her there---- but between the three in the event of Armageddon I am just going to wrap them around me and duck---- I'll survive the initial blast for sure!
Foogin ROCK hard and solid them things are. ------ funny story ---- my dog knocked over a full 60 pc. socket set--- with rathcets and case---it all hit the T-40 befire crashing to the floor-----in a rather loud fashion.......I cant find a scratch (well a NEW one) but no issues--- not even out of tune.....this was a Craftsman socket set....walloped by a dogs ass--- into a bass guitar----- try that with your new Fender Jazz Bass---or a Warwick or Lakland--- after you where revived by the paramedics because you fainted......I bet thered be damage......

OH on a side note the T-40 has been known to stop bullets in a bar fight gone HORRIBLY wrong situation......literally--- bullet proof------

YUP--- thats the truth rat thar ....--- seems I am stuck --- rock hard ash and a hard place----- BUWAHAHAHA---
