I did something ...........

SMITTY!---here is the MILLION DOLLAR QUESTION
Do I get the BLACK surrounds for the T-40 bass to MATCH the T-60 OR do I fashion WOOD surrounds FOR THE T-60 to match the T-40?!?!?!?!?!?

ugh the pressure is killing me!

Don't even ask about the 1967 Pontiac Firebird I could have also had for $500.

Robert, why did you say F GM in another thread when you used to do all that with Vegas?

I never liked GM....ever...but, when we were racing NASCAR short-track dirt series, you had to use a Chevy V8....and people paid me enormous money for a Chevy Vega V8...but, if you notice my post above, I built my own 1972 vega with a 600 horse 427 Ford NASCAR Tunnel Port V8 and 4 speed Toploader.... :)

Wait. Did I miss something? Do I still have a chance to guess???

My guess: eSGEe shagged Wendy from the famed Wendy's burger chain.

What do I get for guessing correctly?

Believe it or not, I'm a member of that forum! Though, I have a different screen name, there. Anyway, it is a cool forum because one of the members is none other than Chip Todd, himself, who designed the T series guitars. In fact the "T" in T-60, T-40, etc., comes from Todd's name.

That is the particularly unique thing about that forum. Just think of all the speculation in which we engage ourselves here..."Why did Gibson do this?", or "Why did Fender do that?" You get the idea. On the T-60 Mafia site you can ask the designer himself. Every now and then, there may be some detail he doesn't recall, but it does help to minimize needless speculation.

But, it is a slow-moving forum, as it is pretty small. I haven't posted there in a long time. Not having a T-series guitar, myself, I ran out of stuff to say pretty quickly.

Hmmm....that's hard to say. The immediate answer would be to do the black, but those home-made wooden surrounds scream mojo.

So...do both! Get the black rings for the T-40 and make wood surrounds for the T-60. Try 'em both out and see which one grows on you the most.

BTW, I still can't believe you got a T-60. That is like, insanium in the cranium, dawg!

"insanium in the cranium" is what eSGEe does best! ;-)

Oh so true.....

Thanks Chili --- but I been in a "CLASS" all by myself for decades.........its mostly LOW CLASS ,,,,, but I am top of the bottom if you get my drift. lol

What a game changer, Adrian...No post purchase trip to a luthier for high frets, no need to rip out the PCB, or add shielding, just a very playable instrument right off the shelf....
