Home made pickups?

Ah, Smitty, the voice of reason!!

If I did get it, it would be for hobby's sake. And I would gladly sell them here for cost as soon as I could wind pups worthy of a guitar. It is only time and temptation to buy guitars to put them in that hold me back. One of my main motivators for buying "husks" as you call them, is to depleate my draw of quality pups. Only about 10 more sets to go!!
Well you could send me a set, I already have a home for them... :D

Yup, that is still equipped with noiseless pickups. I need to modify the pick guard and have been just to busy to do it. I don't wanna rush through it and mess it up. Every time I plan to work on it, something comes up to disturb my plans. My daughter is getting married next month and that has taken up some of my free time. Keeping my wife's car running has kept me busy. Taking dogs to vet have eaten up a couple of Saturdays. It's a good thing that it is not my only guitar that I need to gig with. :rolf:

Sounds like worthy preoccupations. Congrats on your daughter's nuptials!

Did you count them out loud?:) And did you finish the pickup?

Oh boy...I tried pencil sharpeners, fishing reels, counters, everything. It's a tough job if you don't have a legitimate winder. It sounded pretty good actually and a buddy asked if he could have it, so it found a home....

Man, I'd like to try making my own pickup one day, but I think I'll leave the winding to guys like @Bobby who actually know what they are doing. My TysonTone P90 is on a mail truck somewhere in Norway right now, if I'm lucky I'll have it later today! If I'm not so lucky I'll have it in about ten days. I'm going away for the Easter holidays, and won't be back until Saturday next week. No mail on weekends here, and Monday next week is a public holiday. Fingers crossed!
