ME too Chili me too.
So one of the yokals at Gibbo impressed the HELL out of me this morning ---I emailed pics of the chocolate dy-nO-mite G3 to them with Serial # etc. ---
I expected a week to 10 day wait------ I emailed the Service dept at 6:44 a.m.--- and had a RESPONSE by 7:10 A.M. ---ON A BLEEDING SATURDAY!!!!!!!!!
Turns out she is a POST "advertised model run" --- in other words the model/color was "done" in 78---but some still got produced in very small numbers up to 83 I am told .....
From Gibbo Wiz, Bob, in Customer Service.
Hello Adrian,
The format of your serial number (80721064) appears consistent with a number from an instrument built in Kalamazoo, MI. The first and fifth digit indicate the year it was built, the second, third and fourth digits indicate how many days into that year it was when the serial number was stamped ( 72nd day of 1981). The last three digit indicate its place in line among instruments which received their serial number on the 72nd day of 1981. The last three digits on Kalamazoo built guitars would fall between (001 through 499). Nashville built guitars ended with numbers from 500 and above. Thanks.
----So now I (we) know.
Bob also sent a clip of the info/pricing in the catalog that year........cool
