With her liter mates------I think I may have developed a love for all things 70's "brown" --I have a Les Paul Jr and a Rickenbastard bass and a PRS Se all brown ---or brown bursts..........hhhmmmmmm

Some "touch up" wor will occur.....but for the most part--- no...its ALL original right down to the Bill Lawrence pups and the pots......I belive it to even be the original nut......happy happy happy
 
Not sure I ASSUME these are original.......but they are CERTAINLY a unique take on the "strap lock"

And may have a use in the weaponry department for beating things to death with ......

They are original and they are awesome. Another great idea they had during the Norlin era that got sh$tcanned because the "purists" wanted everything to go back to the way it was in the freakin' 1950's. Funny, you don't hear people clamoring to back to the cars or televisions or appliances of the '50's but, oh man, when it comes to guitars evolution and improvement is discouraged.

I've had pretty good luck with the lacquer touch-up sticks and spray clear from Stewmac. Just make sure whatever you do that you use nitro for it when you do any finish work.
 
Much like the T-40 --- (note the "mojo filled pup rings on her in the pic above) I had many "big Ideas of refinishing and refurbing.........it got cleaned and tweaked and new strings......and gets PLAYED....I have come to recognize the scars and divots and could easily pic mine out of a line up blindfolded.......I feel the G3 may suffer the same untouched and fabulous fate.

Day 2 and its still awesome.....

Taking pics today to send to Gibson for "authentication" and actual dating........curious as to the year specifically--- DAMN IT Gasket --- your right .......I am a CORKSNIFFER...........old beat up cork........wait no that is VINTAGE , uhm....rare.....cork yeah that is it.
