mtc. cost in time and parts ... er ZERO
tone??? ............................ all MARSHALL baby

I've had some local offers for the Ivanberg Modded Marshall Origin 50, but I wanted to offer it to forum members here first.

I'm thinking that - based on the cash offers I've had locally - I would set my price at $1,000 for the head and I would offer it to any interested forum member for $800.00, plus shipping or local pickup or delivery for So-Cal guys.

I'm not at all disappointed with the Ivanberg, in fact, it's a beast of an amp. But, with my current assignment as an instructor and with the new band playing a wide variety of covers, I find myself needing the ability to switch between clean and dirty - a two channel amp is a necessity.

The Ivanberg will clean up. You just need to roll off the gain and raise the master volume. Jason Tong demo's this on his video of the Headfirst origin 20

Skip to 6:26 for Jason's demo of the Hot Rodded Origin's clean tone:

The only problem with getting this clean tone is that you cannot switch to it "on the fly" in the middle of a song.

feel free to PM for details

Vid on modding the 50w

Yeah, it's a little different than the Origin 20. In this video, Jason never did post the new voltages hitting the first two preamp tubes. Maybe at his website there'll be more documented info on modding the Orgy 50. And if a new fx loop board needs to be added, the module for the loop will be located about a 1/2" different compared to the O-20 modding tutorial.
