Was reading this. Thought the surgeon was going to say….. only had one patient get up and walk out on him….. guess I should read the whole thing before making things up in my head.

In by 5:00 out by noon. My wife dropped me off and went & got a nice breakfast and soon after they called to tell her to claim me.
Had to pee so bad after I came around... It was all that was on my mind.
They brought me a pressed paper milk jug looking thing to take care of business in.:blink:

That’s a good thing. They won’t let you leave till you pee.

Unfortunately, I don't have a choice of where I can go.
 
I understand your situation, there is some good info just the same explaining about hernies , just click on hernias explained, might be something there that could be beneficial to you, just saying.
 
I'm the hernia king. I've had a lower right inguinal that was fixed in the '90s. Now, I have a belly button one for about 12 years and a lower left inguinal for about the same. The left inguinal is like a tennis ball and I have to hold it when I cough so my guts don't spill out. I plan to get them fixed soon. The problem involves sleep apnea and surgery concerns.

Not sure about pain from the belly button one, but the inguinal's hurt after the surgery. They gave me dilaudid then I introduced them to Ralf!

Clear your throat
Lift i-beams or large boulders


Prepare a sleeping place to roll off the bed or else.

Sounds like you need to get fixed more than I do! Thanks for the advice, but I can't not cough and clear my throat, I don't know what I'm going to do about that.

What you learn is every nuance of what is connected to your abdominal muscles and just how minute the movements have to "whisper" upon them.

I'll be doing a 2 in 1 so that should be fun too. :cautious:

I go see my primary doctor on tuesday, totally unrelated to the surgery, it's just a routine appointment that happens to be right before my surgery. I'm going to ask him if there's anything he can prescribe for my congestion that I can take without side effects. Hopefully there's something.
 
I had a brutal inguinal hernia that I got from skateboarding in large pools/skateparks. My incision is about four inches in length.
Trust me, as much as it sucks, it will get (much) better in time. You may not be able to everything you once did, as I cannot, but in time you will be whole again.
I have a mesh. Sometimes I can feel it when it's really cold and that sucks but overall its not so bad. I do miss skating thought.

Damn, that sounds rough, man.

I'm a little concerned about the mesh after doing some reading about it.

Marijuana is a great pain med and mood alteration which is 9/10ths of pain. I've known 2 people with normal hernias and healed fine but this umbilical stuff is new to me and looks pretty dam serious. Keep you in my thoughts and hope all works out for you, be courageous!!
