The physical therapy is most important for a positive recovery. I've been through three painful tears myself and it's been the PT that got me back to normal. Keep your spirit up!

This I know about, I still remember after my foot surgery to remove a 3 inch framing nail I shot through my foot. I was administered Demerol in my arse, and then Tylox. Needless to say the backup in my digestion was like LA traffic is 24/7.
I could not wait to get back to normal.

Sure wish you could have 1/2 the use I do of my limbs. Being Ambi all my life, I cannot even fathom a dead side.

I did a finger on my right hand with a galvanized Ring shank while doing a deck on a slope! Had to cut myself off a joist, first w/a Sawzall, which was a painfully wrong idea but it was all I could reach … then someone got me my power saw and I cut the joist section w/ the CCA still stuck to my finger. I was a perfect wound since the head of the nail and the block off the joist was so tight , well, no blood! If you want to hear the rest of the story the hospital ER was worse. Few weeks afterward the OR dock's sent me a nice long note thanking me for teaching them thru an experience! The ER part was the second part of the story! And Yea chiliP as whatever happened after that WAS the new normal for the rest of my career! That's a given ….

I was also referring to the normal of flow of bowels,, Man those first few weeks after pain meds really sucked to do the deed,

Oh jees, I never took the meds long enough to do that. And I do partake in those Fosters oil cans so the deed always was like a good mix of mortar cement!
