I’ve done many Warmoth builds. I tape a ”parts list” to the inside cover of the electronic bay.

Yeah, it was there under the pick guard for about 20 years after I bought it in the late 90s. When I went to shield the cavity and took off the PG, there it was. I just laughed. Some one working on the guitar prior to me owning it, obviously was not a Fender fan.I liked the "Fender is Dog" message

If you want to try a build, how about a cheap kit?I enjoy playing them. Never had one that was great. Not sure a good one is worth the money.
I had thought about putting on locking tuners and a better bridge on my now revived squire. In the end though I can find a less expensive alternative that will play just as good if not better.
A sum of adequate parts.
I still want the build. I could end up with more strats than other styles.

Looks like it turned out well.If you want to try a build, how about a cheap kit?
My first build was a $95 Muslady tele kit like this:

Built it mostly per plans the first time...
I've taken it apart and changed it more than once.
Current version is a P-90 deluxe-ish kinda thing.

Learned a lot, and never had to worry too much about binning it if I totally f'ed it up in the process.
It's actually not too shabby of a player.
You must of had to route the control cavity for the Gibson style pot configuration? If you want to try a build, how about a cheap kit?

. any who if your goal is to learn and enjoy the process, then expectation met. But I "F'd" up enough to know it aint easy to get it right on the third try much less the first. But I enjoy it and my projects are not for anyone else but me, so I do not care what the resale is. So go for it.Cool, you made it your own.
Pickguards are fairly easy with a router table.Cool, you made it your own.
I have pickgaurd phobia. My guitar will be rear routed or it could routed for a recessed wood cover.

Fundamentally, I don't like the wood they use.I enjoy playing them. Never had one that was great. Not sure a good one is worth the money.
