I had one in 90’ s bought it from eBay for $800.$1800??!? I know it’s old, but I had one just like it in the 70s, and a modern SG ‘61 (which I also owned) is a much better guitar and can be had for less. I’ve seen them for sale from $1,300 to $1,600 in pristine condition.
How much are they in 2026, you got a very good deal.I scored a 1964 SG Standard in 2016 for $1050.00 had to re fret it only one I have ever seen with factory gold hardware and PAF pickups
now Scott and Mark and I got the 2015 DT SG 1961 RI the one I got was trash I had to replace the nut and bridge so much for the Sweetwater 55 point inspection

Yes, I want it but likely not going to happen.Cosmetics can be repaired to a certain degree.
A good cleaning alone might do wonders for that SG.
Whether it's worth $1,800 or not would be more about how it plays and sounds.
If you're seriously interested, can you try before you buy?
Lots of nice guitars available in that price range, from vintage to new stock.
