Guitar Dream

$1800??!? I know it’s old, but I had one just like it in the 70s, and a modern SG ‘61 (which I also owned) is a much better guitar and can be had for less. I’ve seen them for sale from $1,300 to $1,600 in pristine condition.

Why ?
It’s not even all that nice but is quite rare.
1973 Gibson SG , $1800
Kind of banged up but , I would buy it.

Cosmetics can be repaired to a certain degree.
A good cleaning alone might do wonders for that SG.

Whether it's worth $1,800 or not would be more about how it plays and sounds.
If you're seriously interested, can you try before you buy?

Lots of nice guitars available in that price range, from vintage to new stock.

I scored a 1964 SG Standard in 2016 for $1050.00 had to re fret it only one I have ever seen with factory gold hardware and PAF pickups
now Scott and Mark and I got the 2015 DT SG 1961 RI the one I got was trash I had to replace the nut and bridge so much for the Sweetwater 55 point inspection

I had one in 90’ s bought it from eBay for $800.
For $200 more I could have bought a cream custom with 3 humbuckers. Thats the way it goes. Dreams are not built in modern eras.
If I wanted to buy a better guitar , they are plentiful. Something old has a story to tell. New stuff doesn’t even use rose wood for the most part.

Yes, I want it but likely not going to happen.
Mainly because I have 3 pieces of scrap metal in my front called trucks from the 70’s. They are great money pits. If those were gone maybe. The guy would likely take a little less.
