Aha! Fixing the bias drift?
For the 3rd (and hopefully final) timeAha! Fixing the bias drift?
Hope that clears it up man. It sucks that problem existed as wide as it did and Marshall knowing it, never once offered to correct it as a warrantyFor the 3rd (and hopefully final) time
Me too.Hope that clears it up man. It sucks that problem existed as wide as it did and Marshall knowing it, never once offered to correct it as a warranty

Getcha some good isopropyl alcohol and see if you can clear up your burns some. I got an SLX that had some charring going on from a bad Bridge Rectifier, but was able to clean it and thankfully it didnt burn any traces out.Me too.
I put a new PCB.
Bias drift.
I added Dr. Tube mod.
Bias drift.
Failed to identify pots themselves as a potential source of trouble.
Now I have crispy R6 on main PCB, and ruined tunes.

So today I received the replacement pots and a new matched quad of glass.
Getting stuff ready to go.
I also have a DSL100HSorry to see that mcblink. Glad I moved my TSL down the road before I had to go through that. The new DSL100HR does everything that my TSL100 did, but better.
Yeah. I hate this part lolDude!!!!
It's better replace bias board from the top.Yeah. I hate this part lol
I've done it a few different times already so it's not quite as intimidating as it used to be but it's still not fun.
Don't put the tubes in until it passes all the tests.Me too.

I had trouble sourcing the board itself as it is now discontinued so I just got the pots instead and will replace the faulty ones. Also the test pins are going to need resoldered. The bias board is already out, but this resistor also needs replacing on the main PCB, which is now free from the chassis and wiringIt's better replace bias board from the top.

Not to worry, I have seen many disobey this very warning and I will not be putting my new bottles in this one until it passes all the tests.Don't put the tubes in until it passes all the tests.
Or the tubes could be destroyed.
You need to clean all the carbon off the circuit board.
Test all the bias voltages put in the tubes last.
I warned you.
If you want to run through all the tests we can do that.
But do not put the tubes in until it passes all the tests first.
Yes, for these particular repairs however, I also needed to remove the main PCB from the chassis as well, in order to gain access for the replacement of R6.View attachment 63634
Take out tubes. Take out grey metal part.
