Yep. The High Performance models still do have fret over binding as a feature.

I like big necks. Are they rounded and big, medium or slim taper? I didn't search.

Sadly, Gibson does not currently offer many SG (or other guitar)models with the rounded neck profiles...at least not in their current advertised 2019 lineup.
Just a sparse few models with the chunky neck profile...like the big guard SG...or whatever they’re calling the faded SGs this year.

Thanks, Gahr and Don I go back and forth on neck preferences and feel comfortable in what I call a range of sizes. I think my Epi LP feels like a slim taper to me,
While my 2 Strats feel sort of middle of the road thickness wise. My SG's range from middle to thick I would say, except for my 76 Standard. That neck is sort of wide at the body yet tapers to 1 9/16 at the nut. I envision trying to play a Madolin or UKE and then feel like my fingers are so cramped.

By far my chunkiest necks are my Roy Smeck Recording King guitar with a seriously pronounced V and my Steve Harris P bass. Just a smidge less chunky are my Faded SG and SG Classic.

They're 50/50 for 2019. Standard and Standard Trib have rounded, HP and 61 are Slim Taper.
I picked up a Standard at Sam Ash the other day and the neck was really similar to a LP Trad.

Yeah, LPs have a few models with the rounded profile...they keep changing their names...it gets confusing. Didn’t they used to be traditional and traditional pro etc?

Don, That is my trouble all the sub models. just like today's cars.

I prefer my old 60's and 70's cars. But then again, the number of models and trim packages back then also made one's head swim.

Ya, couldn't agree more. I'd even take it back a couple of years and say the current run of excellence started around 2012/13. The '15's were anomalies because of the specs, but you can't fault their build quality and finishing, plus there were plenty of special dealer runs in 2015 that didn't have the goofy nut and robotuners. All in all, they've been building the most consistent guitars in their history and the 2019 lineup is one of the best yet.
