Gotoh 510 Tune-o-matic bridge

Interesting thread... My experience with Gotoh products has been good.
I installed Gotoh locking tuners and Gotoh bridge on my Epiphone ES-339 P-90 pro
and they fit right on with no problems, and a huge improvement over the stock
Epiphone parts. I wanted BLACK, and I didn't want to spend huge money "upgrading"
my Epi guitar. So these parts seem like a no-brainer.

The Gotoh bridge had a lot more travel for the saddles than did the Epiphone stock part.
And for this blonde guitar, I wanted black hardware. No problem. I bought my parts
from Philadelphia Luthier Tools and Supplies, which works well in USA. I'm using tens
on the ES-339, so I had no difficulty in intonation. But the Gotoh bridge seems like a much
more high quality product than the Epi stock hardware.

So... a fine upgrade for an Epiphone. And for MY Epiphone, I got black hardware on a
blonde guitar. So they look as great as t hey sound, and that's a winning combination for me.

There is no doubting the quality of Gotoh.

I bought the GE1996T tremolo for my Stiletto 6-FR from Philadelphia Luthier Tools & Supplies. They are great but they did not list the specific finish and button options I needed this time around, so I ordered them from the factory via Japarts.ca ... I don't think the latter keep a lot of stock on hand. If you want something now and PLT&S have it in stock you are probably best off going through them. Guitarhey on eBay were also good, I bought a set of the same tuners that I just fitted to this guitar from them back in early 2018 before the GST regulations changed, but now the charges for the eBay Global Shipping Program, GST, and "import charges" make that option too expensive.

I've got my guitar back, Steve filed and sanded the saddles with a radius of 14" to match fretboard

Well I've just played it through the old red stripe Rage 158 and the sustain on this guitar now is monstrous! I've never heard anything like it. I'll have to test it through my tube amps to make sure I'm comparing apples with apples but this just seems to have massive sustain.

There is some buzz. I think this is a combination of new strings and the neck needing to be readjusted. Generally I find with this guitar - and actually all mahongany neck guitars I've owned - that if you leave the strings off for a week it takes quite a while for the neck to adjust to having strings on it again.

Awesome. After that's done, your guitar will be greatly improved. Success! Philadelphia Luthier is awesome. I wish they had a store. The mailing address is very close to me.

Hey Dave, I listened to this and thought of you...

The fella gets some really nice tones; the 12:45 V30 and Jensen Tornado sounds pretty good.

I had an ENGL cab, really low cost and great sounding, and will one day pick up a small ENGL head when at the right money...

Sustain on this bridge is a noticeable improvement over the Tone Pros. I figured i'd put a stop watch on it and (with no vibrato etc) I got over twenty seconds
