And may all the lady nurses be hot...![]()
Sysco, my one surgery I had left me with definite impressions left by my nurses.
The 1st nurse I encountered was during recovery. Memory has me as very groggy, but conversational. It turns out my nurse went to my high school but was a few years older. Once I got clearer headed I asked her if she really told me that or had I made it all up in my head LOL.
I also had been given a Spinal to numb me for removal of a 3 inch nail that I shot through my foot with a nail gun. In recovery, I tried to sit up, but she slammed me back horizontal and said I did not want to stop lying down. UNLESS I wanted to get the WORST headache I could imagine. She explained that a "Spinal" headache was a doozy.
The funniest part of me being conversational with her, was I had come in off a job site and it turns out her dad was a mason on that same site and when I returned to work, her dad mentioned she had spoke of our encounter from my surgery.
After I got set up in my room, I had a number of nurses in the 4 days I was in there. The 2 that stood out were the tough one and the tender one.
No need mention the acts of the tough one, but the tender one was thoughtful, and the true definition of nurse. She made sure I was comfortable, had good food and basically treated me as more than just another body that was just her job. I made sure to thank her for making my unpleasant situation as bearable as I needed.
Good Luck Weas.
