How about a thread for pictures of us actually playing our guitars and using our amps? Guitar forums tend to be inundated with photos of guitars hanging on walls, or on stands, or in racks, or sitting on couches or beds.

But being played, less so. It seems to me like that's kinda bass-ackwards, since guitars and amps were made to be played! So let's remedy that. Doesnae matter if it's on a big stage or your living room. Just being played.

Here's a few to get us started. Be warned-- I got a ton of these, so you'll need to reciprocate/retaliate! ;) (y)

Step up and rock on! :dood:

I'll play. Did worship team at church for about 10 years. My turn came up once every 4-6 weeks. Played acoustic (Ovation electric/acoustic) pretty much exclusively. No amp for the acoustic. Went thru a DI straight to house. Did play my G400 a few times. Played that thru my Traynor YGM3. Did borrow a guys Strat one Sunday. I think I played that thru his Fender Amp. Don't remember what one.

Group shot Yes, along with the usual piano, drums, bass and electric guitar(s).... we have a lady playing violin. If it's who I think it is, she has it plugged into a BOSS GT10.:

EDIT: I don't know how it always seems to work out.... but practically every time I get a photo taken of me while actually playing the guitar.... I'm playing a "G" chord.

Fwiw, I've been on a couple praise teams. At the particular churches I was at, it was always a struggle with people opposed to "rock music" in church. I played pretty much every week, and for a while when we had a separate Saturday night praise music service, twice a week.

This is from a Saturday night praise service, at warmup. My shirt says "Jesus Was An Enemy of the State."

Here's a shot from a Sunday service, I rarely wore a tie like this:

I haven't played in church in about 6 years. New pastor came in and effectively killed the band. I was sick to death of the constant BS anyhow, but hey, at least my punk rock band got a song out of it.

Playing "rock" type contemporary music wasn't an issue at our church. What did me in was our church went thru some changes. Not bad ones as a church goes..... but musically, the new leader went in a direction of more a cover band. As in.... some Sundays we had the tune playing in our in ear monitors...... sometimes a click track..... as we were playing live. That was when as a band, I started feeling more like we were performing rather than worshiping. Add in..... I was struggling with my practice time thru the week leading up to Sunday. And it showed. I wasn't being fair to the rest of the team and at that point I knew it was time for a break.

One of my favorite Sundays was one where the worship leader had issues putting a team together. Probably summer and vacations. A lot of the folk on the team had kids in school, so summer was when ya had to do vacations. Anyway, We ended up with 4 guys playing acoustic. Sitting on the stage in a 1/2 circle. We had either a drummer or a bass player.... but not both. Don't remember which. It was CSNY awesome. Congregation loved it.

Wow, I'm kinda surprised not more people have photos of their gear being played. Shy? That's not like the intranets, at all!

Here's an abso ridiculous one of me, so that no one can be embarrassed about theirs!
