well uh....yeah....

meaning I dont expect a great pickup will cause the Angels to sing...but my recent swaps have produced very favorable results...

No meaning

Well, uh...yeah!

meaning YES --YOU swap pickups for subtle tonal nuances......

Like well uh YEAH...what other reason is there.......

and I came across that giff and wanted to use it

No problem!

My point was just that I'm not expecting a pickup swap to change the world....but my ears pick up all the small things...

I didn't want to imply that I don't hear differences (for example in that video the Burstbucker clearly wipes the floor with the almightly PAF IMO) just that the the differences are not big enough to justify the hassle, or give me something that can't be dialed in with my amp.

A5 magnet, 9.2k Ohms, balanced coil windings (whatever that means, maybe that they have an unequal number of windings to make them equally loud?). They are wax-potted and come with four-conductor wiring, I think.
It means each coil has the identical amount of windings. Maximum hum cancelling. Good sounding, old school PAFs were discovered to have unbalanced coils, which give them a bit more articulation at expense of a tiny bit more noise. I'm not sure if the original mismatched windings of the coils was deliberate, or the result of more primitive quality control... :hmmm:

Hmmmm....good question! It's my understanding (according to Bill Lawrence) a human being used to manually shut off the winder and it would "spin down" which altered the number of winds to some extent....

My experience with this recent Les Paul purchase has really got me excited about Gibson products again...although I am not a blind brand loyalist, I am picking the best cherries I can find in Gibson's patch.
