Yes, Gibson like Stonehenge, have to remember that one, cool. So I just Wikipedia'd the mini hums, pretty vague but they are an Epiphone invention, Gibson has been using on some guitars since the 50's. These had a bar magnet, some with rails, some with adjustable pole pieces. The firebird got a "revised" minihumbucker with the magnet being the rails. Cheers

Cool. So traditionals now how unpotted pickups? Glad my 2012 LP traditional's were potted. What are you doing with the unpotted 490s Robert? Maybe good candidates for the short A5 magnet swap (& potting of course). Cheers
