I am with Bea on this subject... The Blues Hawk is a unique and special guitar,
and it would be a wrong idea to try to make it sound like something much more ordinary.
I suggest you get a P-90 guitar that sounds like what you want, and sell the Blues Hawk
to someone who values its tone more than you do.
I have a lovely Epiphone ES-339 P-90 pro, and I modded it to the nines with
all the coolest components. It looks and sounds great, and something like this would be
a much better use for your old P-90s out of the dusty box. Epiphones respond really
well to upgrades.
And it's better to sell the Blues Hawk unmodified to someone who values it for what it is
instead of attempting to make it into something that it's not. Bea's suggestions are all good
if you want to play the Blues Hawk. Mine would be to simply add an EQ pedal to your signal
chain, and shape the tone with that. Problem solved.
There it is.
Rest easy, I did not change a thing on it, eSGEe is the Proud owner and is totally smitten by her mild voice.
Or send it to your father in Australia as a way of saying sorry for all of the heartache you have given him over the years![]()
I am afraid you are gonna have a LONG wait.
