Gibson BluesHawk

There are actually several with 25.5" scale: the RD, AFAIK also the Corvus, the Nighthawk, and a few others of their exotic ideas (the U2?).

The p'ups I have at the moment are a pair of S.D. Antiquity's. They have been in my box of goodies going on 20 years.
A customer ordered them back in Jacksonville for a project and then lost his job and the project went bust. I just held on to them.

But it has a sound quality of its own. And not only the pickups but the overall construction contribute to that.

If You really ned a more powerful guitar with P90 You should look for a separate guitar, maybe a Heritage P137 or an SG or a Les Paul. And either keep the Blueshawk or sell it. But leave it intact.

Or a Godin Core CT P90 Black GT:)

Oh the HAWK can scream...you just gotta do this odd thing -----its called turn the amp to 11~! :)

ITs a Blues machine......not a Metal Shreddar --- I am finding its a mid volume ---slow ride sort of beastie....

I am with Bea on this subject... The Blues Hawk is a unique and special guitar,
and it would be a wrong idea to try to make it sound like something much more ordinary.

I suggest you get a P-90 guitar that sounds like what you want, and sell the Blues Hawk
to someone who values its tone more than you do.

I have a lovely Epiphone ES-339 P-90 pro, and I modded it to the nines with
all the coolest components. It looks and sounds great, and something like this would be
a much better use for your old P-90s out of the dusty box. Epiphones respond really
well to upgrades.

And it's better to sell the Blues Hawk unmodified to someone who values it for what it is
instead of attempting to make it into something that it's not. Bea's suggestions are all good
if you want to play the Blues Hawk. Mine would be to simply add an EQ pedal to your signal
chain, and shape the tone with that. Problem solved.

There it is.

HE did......

IT now resides in Swampneckistan ;)
IT will NOT be modded in any form --- its Quirky Funky Vibe is a perfect fit to the rest of the funky bunch here in the Doom Room of Boom.
