GC never more!

NJ has some interesting laws about re-boxing broken / damaged / missing parts etc...
They just stick it back in the box, and resell it. No rules against it.
They don't have to tell you anything.

Other states have laws against that...

Sweetwater I know will send you the real photos, pack it properly, probably ship it free, and will inspect it before it is shipped.
They will also get you 3 easy payments (that's what hooks me every time).
Sweetwater is in business to make players happy- it's a big part of the business model to make sure every customer is happy.
They will call you, to make sure your guitar is good after you receive it.
But if I was you, I would sink another $100 into a guitar case.

It's sort of like:
Guitar Center and Sweetwater are 2 opposites.
Despite GC is in California right here close by ---I order stuff from Indiana instead.
I could just drive to Santa Barbra / Oxnard GC but I don't.
I was already getting ready to buy the Jackson TSA molded case from Sweetwater yesterday. Lucky for me I held off until I actually had the guitar in hand. Otherwise I’d have a case reminding me of this.
 
That sucks. The really crazy thing is, the guy who accepted that damaged box off the shipping truck - they should have filed a claim with UPS on the spot, not call you and act like nothing was amiss.

Used to be, you could get decent deals from them. Nowadays it's just a Clown College Fire Drill every time I set foot in one of their stores.

It's sad when I hear about business experiences like the one you went through.

Unless you already did, it would have been interesting to know what the response from that GC store's primo manager would have been regarding your experience there. Does the manager have the same level of customer service as the dickhead that you encountered? I'm always wondering how deep the incompetence is at some of these GC stores... :confused:
 
Sweetwater has it on back order. So does Sam Ash.
I figure if GC just got a shipment in. The other two should receive them soon

The attitude there feel like they are doing you a favor by help you. The rule I go by is this, The general attitude of the employees will tell the tale of their management.

The Paramus NJ location is different. I actually like the tech there. He is really good and the staff will actually ask if you need help. Even though I had a couple of bad experiences, last night being the worst yet, I can't slam every GC location.
Regardless, I'm not going to do business with them anymore, not just because something was shipped to them damaged or the feeling of pulling teeth when I asked for a refund, but because they just didn't care.

And, you've exposed another major issue: A GC store that consistently offers poor customer experiences will negatively affect other GC store's that treat their customers properly.
 
I always liked his acting...I say that phrase all the time...oh, and I often interject "are you threatening me?" randomly into conversations just for fun...
