I've used Reaper since I can't even remember as my DAW. I decided to peek around yesterday at other options for a possible nicer and more usable interface. I came across Presonus Studio One 6 and it looked pretty hot so I downloaded an evaluation copy then picked it up for $99.
The interface is sharp as a razor and is laid out beautifully for ascetics and workflow. Reaper is odd and has always been in a lot of ways while Presonus is a design masterpiece DAW. For one, Presonus gets to the point in the menus with one or two words while reaper gets into near sentences for a menu option that completely lose you at times. Plus they have real odd sort of options that would never even be used. Studio One is right to the point without all this extraneous crap. You can even generate images for your plugins. What better way could they use to find a friend in me?? Lol.
Without further adieu I present to you my new DAW ....Presonus Studio One 6:
I have Artist version. There is an upgrade and even a Professional version after mine. Be warned though, the upper versions offer things like real-time social clubs and other weird social media kinda stuff that to me is a complete waste. Artist is a strait out DAW without this ridicules sort of stuff.
Some may find this boring, but I did at least provide you a new thread to read.
