Fool For Your Lovin - Demo For Our Singer:

We had the opportunity to get backing vocals laid down on this today, so I went ahead and sang the lead, even though this was created as a practice track for our singer. The song really pushes me vocally so I probably wouldn't take it on live - not willingly anyways - but I make it a point to know how to sing every song we have, good or bad, just in case someone doesn't show up.

Oh, and I forgot some of the words and ad-libbed a few parts, but made them rhyme anyways..LOL

Instead of: But I took all the heartache
And turned it to shame
Now I'm moving moving on
And I ain't taking the blame

I sang: But I took all my heartache
And turned it to rage
Now I'm movin - movin on
Yeah, I'm turnin the page

Special thanks to our resident studio friends (aka Drunken Friends) for their contribution to the backing vocals.

The guitar solo is improvisation and it's doubled twice - 4 tracks panned left & right at different percentages.

There's no competing with Mr. Coverdale!!!!!

I was listening to a chit chat with another famous singer who was friends with Coverdale, Jimmy Page, Paul Rogers and that bunch. He mentioned going into studio to do some singing and Coverdale was in there. He mentioned Coverdale has perfect pitch, operatic skills, whereas his singing, he had to work at making sound good. It might have been Lou Graham.

Coverdale was a monster!!!!

Like I said, I make it a point to sing all our songs just in case I have to take over the front - which has happened a time or two. I'm no great singer, but I could get us by in a jam....
