So today I finally found a way to arrange my tiny apartment so I could put all my stuff in one spot. It's nice to be able to switch around and not have to move stuff around to do it. DirtySteve's wall of sound! :ROFLMAO:

Amps left to right, GR Harvard clone (built for me by T-Rex) - Marshall SC20H - Lil' Devil, Cameron/Jose HG Plexi (my build)
Guitars left to right, 2014 120th Anni Melody Maker - Warmoth T-Style (my most successful build) -2021 Satin Honeyburst LP Tribute - 2020 60s Standard.

I was determined to get a good photo this time, but after 2 shots my camera shut off, the battery died and I don't know where my charger is. I was going to play with the settings, I even got my manual out, but I didn't get the chance. One of these days I'm going to figure out how to get better pics, even if I have to buy a new camera.

What camera do you have, Steve? We should be able to make it work for you.

It should be plenty good. Might be lighting issues. Get er charged and we'll talk! I sold cameras for a living for 25 years so we should be able to get it going.

I do believe my lighting isn't very good and that's probably part of it. I did a auto enhance in edit mode on my computer for the image I posted above. Here's the original image.

Looks like you are using flash. Tends to be harsh and too bright in center.
Soft overcast light is best.
Or flourescent cause they have a diffuser on top can work.

I'm watching this vid right now and setting it the way he's telling me to. My camera is a little different tho and I don't have all the settings he does.

Ok, I'm getting somewhere now. Doing the settings like that guy said definitely did something, but it's not right. The image is much clearer, but it's very dark with no flash.

Now I suddenly have 4 different flash options where before it was just on or off, but using any flash setting made the images really blurry. Every pic I took with a flash looks like this.

I think I only actually changed 2 settings. I turned something off that was on, I don't remember what, and I changed the shutter speed to the lowest setting like the guy said to do.

I have used lighting in the past, but I don't have anything like that anymore. Believe it or not I've actually taken photography classes in college, but that was a lifetime ago and I don't remember much. I had every light in the house on to take that last shot, I shouldn't "need" more light than that. I'm not looking to get pro shots, just clear images of what I'm shooting would be great.

I think that dude is overly complicating things.
Firstly, first shot is WITH flash, you can see it reflecting but doesn't spread wide enough to get edges.
Blurry usually means no flash andnyhe shutter speed lowers to gather light. Sadly that also creates camera shake.

Slow shutter will increase shake as mentioned. Go back to auto, or P mode, and try setting the ISO higher. That makes it more sensitive to light, thinkmof it like a gain control in audio.

Shouldn't need more, no. Turn off flash, up the ISO and perhaps set the white balance to incandescemt unless auto WB does it.
