Evs not cracked up to be..

Session 5

You watch across the internet, how Ev sales are climbing. Ford has claimed , they want their dealers to buy more. The Ford dealers say NO they don't want them their lots are flooded with them and they can't sell the ones they have. Head guy for Toyota came out yesterday full electric basically is to bullish, he leaned more towards hybrids.

GM is struggling with electrics as well. In reality most manufacturers don't even want them. Fossil fuel cars will be around a long time yet..Long live the gas engine.

I knew this was going to happen, nothing new to me..:)

Ooh ooh.... I want to play too. My entry.

Frankly guys. We've kinda beat this subject to death. And not just here in TTR. Hydrocarbon fueled vehicles aren't going anywhere for many years. You young guys will be driving them long after us old guys have moved on to the next life. But change is coming. Isn't going to be today. Won't be tomorrow. And as fast as technology is exploding (pun intended... hee hee), EV's won't be the ultimate answer. Science and engineers are already working on technology that will obsolete electric. Technology that doesn't exist today but will in the not too distant future. Tech that will be cleaner. Have less environmental impact. But we're probably talking 20-30 years.

All I'm suggesting is we not get hung up on today. It took over 100 years to go from a Model T to some of today's "muscle cars" that have 500+ HP.... Top End of well over 150. That can get mid 20s+ fuel mileage. It's gonna take some time to realistically replace gas powered vehicles.

They'll have to pry my beloved Jeep from my cold, dead hands.

And my point. We’re the same age. We won’t be here by the time technology catches up with need and alternate fuel vehicles will be all the rage. Unless you’re planning on living to 100. Pretty sure I’m not making it there.

You have way more skills than I do. Most I've done to my Vette is intake manifold and carb. Updated HEI distributor. Headers and true dual exhaust. (In 77 it was single exhaust into two mufflers... so it "looked" Corvette)
Good stuff man !! The GT was 2 into 1 also. What a clog up of power huh

Bought a new car back in 74. Two choices. Pure single exhaust. True dual exhaust…… which is the option I took. Supposedly dual was a 20hp boost over single.

Electric vehicles went from fairly popular around the turn of the century, 1900 that is, to killed by Ford, and finally making a comeback. Both EV and ICE have their problems.

What I hate to see is the naysayers complaining that the next technology isn't perfect right out of the gate. :D
