Evs not cracked up to be..

EVs will get there someday when battery technology gets to about 10% of todays cost.

So, for now, I’m sticking with OVs.

Orange vehicles !
Turning gas into noise for over 50 years.

Love 'em. We're into red as well. A red Buick SUV. Red Honda Civic. And a red 77 Vette. At least one is sorta cool.

Though we've discussed this topic a great deal, it's always gonna come back up and so sure, let's talk it lol

Im personally all for any new technology that will get us down the road further in terms of existence in general and if it helps the planet around us too? Even better!

But the battery tech right now is infant at best in terms of generating long, efficient and reliable power. I mean it's definitely better than it was in the mid-late 90s and EVs certainly look much better than they did then ( seriously look at this awful, pitiful sack of $hit with it's WHOPPING 137bhp and 87km range with leadacid batteries and monumental 227km range on NiMH batteries)1996-gm-ev1-1-1592914571.jpg

But as great as battery tech is now with long range and powerful Lithium Ion batteries, it's still got a long way to go. Mining Lithium has become as big as environmental disaster as the pollution from carbon emitting vehicles and we're starting to already run out of easy mining and having to resort to deeper and more expensive mining. So, until we conjure up a better battery ( and I'm sure we will, since the Lithium Ion was an evolutionary leap from NiMH and NiCad batteries), we wont be seeing this takeover like planned

But look towards Hydrogen cars as a legitimate, viable solution! Though that technology has been there for decades and some small attempts were made in the 80s-early 90s, there's not been a lot of focus on this design until recent years. The Toyota Mirai has a world record range of 845miles per tank at an efficiency of about 77mpg. This has started to make a lot of automotive designers take notice and look into expanding their focus to Hydrogen Fuel Cells. Unfortunately, there's not many stations out there ( about 10 in the entire state of California for example) but if designers start to trend to this, expect the Tesla Stations to begin to crumble nationwide

Bob Lazar is a guy I can't figure out. He is either a complete wacko with a very vivid and impressive imagination or he legitimately has information that is light years ahead of what is known to the public world and the government has done everything imaginable to suppress and discredit him. Obviously, I am inclined to believe the former rather than the latter, but then again he does stuff like here with hydrogen cells as if he was just changing brake pads on his car. So again, I can't figure this dude out lol

I go back and forth on him. I think he may be legit though.

It's a pretty freaking deep rabbit hole, most simply write it off as tinfoil hat stuff.

It is pretty bizarre that back in the early 90s when he was saying he worked at S-4 (a supposedly more secretive facility in the already secretive Area 51), he talked about a flying saucer the government had in its possession that was made of a liquid-like titanium alloy. Almost immediately, Testor's models released this model, kinda landing some credence to his story I guess.

He said it used a basketball-sized reactor, powered by element 115, which had yet to be discovered...and we now know it as moscovium...seeing how the mercury vortex engine works, it makes a lot of sense why they're mostly saucer-shaped craft.

The Nazis were said to have "Die Glocke", a craft based on ancient sanskrit and hindu texts that feature "flying machines of the gods" called Vimana. Some of these texts were pretty explicit in their descriptions of construction and propulsion, even specifically identifying liquid mercury as a crucial component. These are ancient texts...

Of course, the Nazis weren't yet capable of nuclear power, so Die Glocke was electromagnetic, rather than nuclear. Supposedly, of course.

Then, Operation Paperclip happens.....1600 Nazi scientists, engineers and technicians are taken from Germany to the US to be put to work for our own nation, eventually forming what would become NASA....

LOL Everyone got their foil hats on yet? This stuff goes way further down the hole, but I gotta split for a bit, pick up the kiddos from school...

Didn’t Tony Stark discover/invent Element 115 in one of the Iron Man films?

It was some new element, because JARVIS tells him congratulations for successfully synthesizing it. It was to replace the Palladium core in his chest that was slowly killing him

And now I'll politely tuck my head in the sand like the dork I am for knowing this lmao

Hydrogen has been proven to be a more efficient "fuel" but the delivery system is where the problem lies. Hydrogen is exponentially worse for the atmosphere than burning carbon fuels, so the spillage from the average user would create far more problems than being solved.

So many issues in this perfect storm of crossroads for vehicle delivery. Sure, the thought of EV's are great if they can provide the same functionality as a traditional engine, but there's just too many problems currently. Cost and scarcity of materials for the batteries, efficiency and long term reliability. Let's not even begin to think of the power draw on a failing power infrastructure if the populace goes EV. People can't even use air-conditioners right now during some hotter months because of rolling brown outs.
