Basically, I didn’t do enough research the first time. That will not be the case this time!
Can I get some details on the painting g and masking process??? I'm considering giving my white Jackson a red/black/white EVH theme, as a factory-fresh finish..
I heard he just stopped in a truck stop in the middle of the night while on tour and bought a whole variety pack to put on the guitar and used to flip it to the backside during shows to make it sort of light up when the stage lights hit it. But with all EVH stories, you never got the full story from the man himself, so who knows? LolI don't know about that. It looks great. I've long thought an EVH "themed" build would be great, as opposed to a copy.
Wondee what his idea was with those reflectors on the back??? They look uncomfortable!!!
Isnt that the true spirit of the whole thing? To cobble together a decent playing boneyard guitar? This was built entirely from parts that I had just laying around from various failed or never started projects.
Before one of you EVH experts chimes in, it was meant as a tribute and definitely not a "replica" of the guitar that morphed into Frankie.
The body is a Music Man Axis-style from Tone Bomb and has been several different colours already. The neck was from a different project and had a very strange headstock. What you see is the best I could come up with to replicate an EVH Wolfgang headstock without having to plug and redrill tuner holes. It does have the spoke wheel at the heel for adjustment, just like the EBMM, Peavey and EVH models.
