EPI Les Paul Standard LQ Series

Sounds like you have had a similar experience with the 57/57+ in a LP style guitar...VS...in a SG.
I’m glad that you’re enjoying your, very cool, new guitar! (Bummer there’s no clip action...but such is life)(y)
If you are that interested in hearing my poor playing and lack of musical talent, I will attempt to come up with some sound clips for you!
:D

More quiet than my MIA Strat HSS. At this point I don't feel the need to improve the shielding in the LP. I must say, though, that I suspect I am not playing at anywhere near the volume or with as much gain as you are.

You know, all my Gibsons are 100% stock and all are dead-quiet. High volume/high gain, whatever. And I live in spitting distance of LAX and every radio transmitter in West LA.

Robert must be situated near a NASA tracking station or something, he seems to have a lot of problems with interference.

I am next to March Air Reserve

I have a lot of problems on this hillside above Cal State, including picking up two-way radio communications from grounds maintenance at the kid's school about 75 yards away, to cell phone conversations and KFROG Radio. However, the worst interference was at Capitol Studios during Per Diem studio work. My Gibson Les Paul would transmit KLOS 95.5 quite loudly until it was shielded.

Do you pick up signals from the base?

Only time I have ever played the radio through my rig was when there were grounding problems in the power source. Otherwise, its never been an issue in 40+ years of playing.

Our bass player picked up radio traffic from Edwards AFB through his bass at Wasteland Weekend 2018 near California City. It's quite common in unshielded instruments...

I do have the benefit of the Pacific Ocean being on one side of me, so not too much coming from that direction, but yeah, all my life I never really had any problems with this sort of thing even when I've lived inland/mountains/other states.

I did play with a guy for a number of years though, bass player, and the guy was some kind of human superconductor. He'd pick up all kinds of crazy signals that would go away if he put the bass down or someone else was playing through his rig. And he'd fry amps all the time by just touching the knobs.

Wild!!!!!

Wild!!!!!

Dude, it was crazy. He has this incredibly gorgeous Alembic bass and he had to gut it and remove the Bartolini's and active circuit and replace with standard pickups because he made the electronics go haywire. Didn't happen when anyone else played the thing.

He fried amps so many times we had to put those little rubber covers on the knobs of his SVT just so he could adjust the volume without destroying the thing.

It was like living in an episode of the X-Files
