Dos Hombres, a 14 Watt 2 channel 6CM6 combo amp build

I do like the ERO caps. They are "Tone Transparent", not necessarily clean by any means. I like that the caps pass the tone of what you are putting into the amp without being dark or sterile

A new update on this project. I haven't commented because I'm "not there yet". I have reworked this amp at least three times and tore it apart and rebuilt a new design at least two times since I last posted. All the rebuilds were good quality amps, and if I would have had a notion, I probably could have sold them to 95% of people who would have loved the build. But this build is for me.

It was not what I am shooting for. I am on my last version, same 14watt fixed bias 6CM6 power section, but this time I am building a tweed pro 5E5-A version. I have the old turretboard ripped out and finished the new turretboard today. I hope to drop it into the chassis this weekend.

to cold and not humid enough lol

hey hey hey LOOK Mr -- Im playing a GODIN through an ORANGE model of a 100 watt rectoverb (I think) ..... dont be hatin -- DONT BE HATIN ......

Finished up, just waiting for a pair of 12AY7's to get here for fireup. I went with a single input for each channel.
Maybe even more versatile than doing a 2203/2204 type V1 arrangement would be to do it as a "Neil Special".16364368769585502705319004861625.jpg By using a DPDT switchable (push/pull) type pot as one of the volume controls, this gives you the model 1987/1959 superlead's "bright" channel's High & Low Sensitivity inputs, switchable to the model 2204, including the 2204's Low Sensitivity input. Cheers
Edit:
The above layout includes a PPIMV (post phase inverter master volume), which you can use, or not, depending on your preferences. Cheers

I have two low watt 2203/04 type builds here at home, one is much like Neil's build, my 36watt 6v6, the RS. They do work well.

I flipped over to this current build to get a Tweed amp to fill that want.

After pouring over several , if not almost all of the Tweed models (and building a couple of the tweed models), this 5E5-A stands out to me.

I decided to splice the 5E5-A design together with the 14Watt 6CM6 power section. And again for those who are not familiar with the 6CM6, they are a 9 pin small bottle that have the same design specs as a 6V6. Best of both the EL84 and 6V6 combined.
