Does The Wood Matter as Much as We've Been Told???

Looks cool. Not sure I'd ever buy another bolt-neck guitar, but I really do like the looks of that.

I feel ya....

I like the way a Stratocaster allows you to modify it in a modular fashion. I kinda like not being stuck with a neck profile that I don't like.

This is a Quartersawn, roasted maple neck, large CBS headstock, 1-3/4" wide @ the nut with a 1.00" "soft V" profile from 1st to 12th fret, Jescar gold .104" x .047" frets, Graph Tech Tusq XL nut CNC profiled for .046" x .009" strings and .017" string height at the 1st fret, black face dots, cream side dots, and vintage 11/32" tuner ream.

I'm really, really, really hoping the neck gives me better dexterity on open chords, due to its greater width, and also makes at least a positive change in tone.

Gotoh vintage tuners...

Did you buy that sticker? They've never sent me anything like that.

I bought a set of T-tops and they came in the same carrying case :pound-hand:

I believe that all three of mine are third generation, as they have the metal latches. My '82 Les Paul has the original case, and the interior is brown. My '85 also has the original case, and the interior is blue with metal latches. The '69 SG case I got later, and is similar to the '85 LP case. I do still have the original '69 "Artist Series" paisley case for it.

The one on the right are metal latches. I’d have to go back and research the 2nd gen, I forgot what hey changed from the first.

Yah, the plastic latches sometimes wore out & broke off. I guess the metal ones can break over time too.

Those all-walnut The Pauls could sound absolutely massive and had great sustain. Nice ebony boards, too.
Even today, not many realize they have a long tenon neck joint.
