Wiring day !

Yesterday I pulled 6 50ft XLR cables through 1 of the 3 pipes I installed under the floor. 4 for drum mics, 2 overhead, kick and snare. 1 connected to the DI output of the Roland bass amp, and 1 for a mic on the 4x12 cab that either the Kemper or Mark V drive. Ordered 3 more 50ft ones, 2 for vocal mics and one for sharing with the Marshall half stacks.

Also the first time I powered up the 8 inch JBL studio monitors, they sound great.

I ordered this the other day. All the XLRs will Jack into the back of this, mounted in a 19 inch rack space on the desk top (lower righthand corner of the desk pic). All the front jacks will get labeled. I’ll use 3 ft patch cords to plug into the mixer or other gear.

Did some acoustic treatment the last few days. Made this 3x6 ft panel for on the ceiling over the drums. Made 2 mounts attached to the ceiling and then made a frame to slide into them. Used spray adhesive to glue the foam squares to a thick sheet of cardboard and then used liquid nails to glue the frame to the cardboard. Hung it today and mounted one of the two overhead mics for the drums. Can’t mount the second one until a get a final placement for the drums. I ordered a Gibraltar drum rack and it’s on its way. For the YouTubes I’ve watched the 2 over head mics shoul be equal distance from the snare drum so that it is center stage when recording. I’ve still got about a dozen more cables to run under the floor and it the walls. Then I’m ready to Rock an Roll !

158 duplex outlets
25 light switches
48 other boxes (RJ-45, smoke detectors, light boxes)
15 circuit breakers (in a new sub panel)
550ft of 12 gauge romex
850 ft of 14 gauge romex
