Do You Name Your Guitars?

If so what is your inspiration? Is it a girl, a song, something specific to the guitar? Other things?

Let's discuss...
Ha ha! I've been waiting for a thread like this! "Yes, I'm syscokid. Yes, I name (most) my guitars!"

So here my stats:
13 of my 15 electrics are personally named.
Of the 13 named electrics, only 11 of them have hard core evidence of the name. Engraved truss rod covers, or an engraved backplate, or headstock decals and plaques that announces to the world thy name.
All my 13 named guitars are named after my mom, my wife, my human children, my fuzzy children, and my real bro.
My 2 acoustics have no name. They shall remain nameless and shameless... Holy feces!!!! Now I know what to name them: "Nameless" and "Shameless"... :woohoo:

Random, reasons or mix?
Every one of my guitars has it's own feel, it's own tone, it's own character. Their names were given to me as I played them. All except for Dirty Girl which was recieved from @eSGEe after rubbing his junk all over her first. You can only guess how she acquired that name. You remember Aggie the Agile with the P90s that moved from me on to you. They all have names deserving of their grace and beauty.

I used to feel it was pretty self-important (or at best, really corny) when I'd hear about players naming their instruments.

Then in '87 I encountered a very special PRS with so much personality that not to name her would've been almost insulting.

Within a few years all my guitars had names.

Since then, new acquisitions are named as soon as I get to know their individual character well enough. I no longer feel it's silly.
It helps differentiate them from each other - especially helpful in cases where I own more than a few of a particular model.

Many of mine are named for air & space phenomena or things that fly. A few for supernatural beings or mythical creatures.
Others are named after women, and a handful simply because of their tone or color or both.
Two are actually sort of puns - my Eko guitars are named Delta and Foxtrot.

Not really names, but references. Like the Taylors, or the Peaveys or the SG's.
Or the green one, and the purple one.
Possibly even the new one, when I've been swapping with eSGEe.
I jokingly call my Mustang a Tronstang because of the pickups, but it's not really a name.
Never referenced a guitar to a particular person either or had a signature model.
Except for maybe a Jagstang that I had years ago. It was kind of associated with a certain grunge cat. :dood:
