The Les Paul Forum. Looks like they spiffed it up with the XenForo platform. Looks nice but I don't like the gold. Never had interest in joining that place though. Maybe because I have no interest in being ..covetous in regards to Les Pauls and/or Marshalls anymore.

Actually it was marshall splinter forum by a dude that was on MF before the big exodus about more than 10 years ago. @DirtySteve might remember more details.
It was actually a decent forum. Tons of info.

A meeting with Lloyd again?? Lol.

No probs, except I do wonder why ibs got a new interface. ?? We just need you here for thread mastering ... the glue. :dood:
Ah ha , why indeed. CRAZY , $35.
I have a friend that's a drummer.
He has been saying for quite some time he was going to get set up to do a internet jam. That time has come.

So the interface has the proper capability supposedly. It just arrived yesterday so new gear day number 1 for 2024.

I have a new Speaker VST
York Audio VHT. 412 P50E

"The York Audio VH+ 412 P50E Cab Pack is based on a VHT Fatbottom 4×12 cabinet loaded with the original Eminence P50E Speakers. The tone is mean and aggressive with a thick low end, throaty midrange, and a top end with nice bite and air to give your tone presence and width in the mix. While this cabinet is typically used for heavier music, its forward midrange gives a “woodiness” to mid gain tones and sounds surprisingly good with clean amps"

My old cheap windows desktop with reaper is choking after about six or seven tracks with FX. It's only got 4G ram and is not upgradeable for more unfortunately. So I'm looking at best buy for a cheaper reconditioned box ... I know to look for SSD, and the more ram the better, but could I possibly get away with 8GB ram unit or do I need the 16gb? For like 12-15 tracks with fx? I can hardly imagine ever needing more than that

Better to go 16GB, will also be better for you longer term..

I bumped my laptop from 8gig to 16. Haven’t used it to multitrack anything in reaper yet. But there did seem to be a perceptible pickup in speed.

Windows suggests it can run in 8gb, but it uses around 4 by itself just to run. So yeah. Strongly suggest going 16 as well. Not sure about the need for 32….. but the perfect time to load up on RAM is when you purchase a new box. Be it tower or laptop. Way cheaper than adding later down the road. Sometimes by 1/2.

Same with the HD, be it platter or SSD. If you think 500gb is enough. Get 1TB. I did when I bought my laptop. I’ll never use it all, but the price difference was negligible.

I’ve read of them, but I don’t have a 500 box…so I never got into the 500 series format. They look nice on paper. Probably quite a step up from anything commonly found on an interface, or mixer.
Supposedly they are number 2 reverb below the Neve.

I bought the Camden 500. I do not have a rack for the 500 series either.

Right now nothing , it's nearly the same cost for the rack.
I might have been a little to impulsive.
There are DYI racks.
That’s why I never went 500 series…the outlay for the lunchbox, for power etc… The units(preamps, compressors, eq, and such) are fairly priced, but the dependencies of the lunchbox are daunting to me…I’ve got plenty of rack-space on hand, why not fill it?…is always my conclusion for myself. Maybe someday. I’ve got my eyes open for another UA model preamp…someday…if the right deal rolls around, and I have the disposable funds.
