Did anyone stock up on tubes/valves

Suddenly, I feel like it was fortuitous that I never got rid of my Transtube 212.

Leaving the idea of modeling and processing aside for a moment, I wonder if this will lead to more and renewed interest in producing really good SS amps.

Hmmm…

$649 for a Jensen Blackbird speaker?
Really?
Since the outbreak of the flu, things have progressively got more & more expensive here. Shipping problems, up until just recently, existed where various international businesses & vendors etc (even eBay sellers) could not ship to Australia (@syscokid had a quite small package that, until a few days ago he couldn't send me, since sometime last year). This meant that for the most part Aussies had to rely on local retailers, & prices have risen accordingly, everywhere (especially Evatco's tube prices the last few days).
Most anything amp related I purchase from the USA, some from the UK. Even paying international shipping rates I'm better off. Aside from the recent tube purchases, about all I buy from evatco is things like tube sockets & buss wire (my turret setting anvil & stake also from there).
Check out their prices on stuff like Hammond transformers,,, better grab a seat first, I don't want you hitting the floor in shock. Cheers

That's right, 649 Aussie = $473 USD.
I could buy 2X EVMs for that much $.
But then I'd need to lift and carry 2X EVMs...38 pounds or 17 Kilo....plus the cabinet.

HAHA AMPMAD, Are you looking in my living room? Not only did I buy 2 x EVM 8 ohm speakers and a 4x12 Traynor cab for a good bit less that $473 USD, but I also bought 4 -12 inch Peavey 50 watt 16 ohm speakers for $45 total. So along with those and my stock of 4 Eminence Redcoat Governor 16 ohm speakers, I am one jack socket away from completing my 2 -16 ohm 4x12's, and then on to building cab for my 2 EVM's. Can't wait to get all these babies ready to R N R.

Here is a local seller to me, I know I have posted him on here before. He is the guy I turned to when I bought my used Superlead and as soon as I went to fire it up off standby and the fuse blew. I turned to him to test my tubes and to buy new ones from him. A real stand up guy with a huge collection of tubes.

It's better to make two 1X12 cabinets for EVMs. The speaker weighs too much.
The cabinet is called TL806.
Then you won't need to carry two EVMs in one cabinet at the same time.
