OK folks, here's my update, but first I need to back up and fill you in on the whole story. Last Monday I started feeling a tad ill, as the week progressed it kept getting worse, so I hauled my ass to this building here they call a hospital, EVERY time I've been there I've had a bad experience, they have no full time doctor there, the use floaters from Springfield. So Friday I get hooked up with this nurse practitioner (and I use the term loosely.) who has an attitude. She orders three tests, a urinalysis, a blood work up and a CT scan, now keep in mind I sat in the ER for almost five hours.
So she finally pops her head in and tells me my white cell count is off the hook, this is after I already told her I don't have a Spleen and my white cell count would be abnormal and extremely high, it's been that way since 1970 after my Splenectomy and is perfectly normal all things considered.
Next I'm told I have an acute UTI, I have absolutely no symptoms at all, she cops an attitude and insists I do (it was later confirmed I didn't.) The next thing out of her mouth is and I quote " I found an abnormality in your left Kidney, you have cancer" wtf? are you sure? you read the scan, your NOT a radiologist and I have cancer? Yep you do.......now the attitude with her is more intense.
Next thing she says is " we're putting you in an ambulance and taking you to the Hospital in Springfield. I'm like hold on a sec, I need to go home first, drop some things off, get cleaned up and change my clothes, she tells me no, I've already made arrangements, you need to go now......uhmm, no, I'm not, that a $800.00 ride and I'm gonna sit in the Hospital for two days because my primary Doctor isn't available, so she's getting pissed, my girlfriend Dodie tries to explain I'm on a fixed income, she gets ignored and then tells me if I refuse, they have to start all over again......meaning she will have to do all the paperwork and be inconvenienced, I told her to" get out of my room, you're really starting to piss me off" and I go home.
I manage to get see my primary Doc, they sent him my blood workup, but not the scans and he sets me up to see a urinary oncologist, which I did yesterday. The man was my age and very compassionate, we look at the scans together and then he says,
there's a 98% that the mass is benign except for a very small area that is questionable. Wow, I'm stunned, all this bull

and scaring everyone have to death over the opinion of a pompous wanna be Doctor. He does want me to get a needle biopsy of that area, but says he see's this all the time and tells me it's not cancer until he says it's cancer, people get these things all the time and they mostly turn out to be nothing. So now I'm just waiting for the Hospital in Decatur to call so we can schedule the biopsy, if it's not malignant, it's over and I'm done, if it is, they take it out and I'm done, the area in question is very small and not aggressive., End of train wreck.
So I want to apologize to all of you for the scare and also to THANK ALL OF YOU for the thoughts and prayers, I will be making a call to the administrator at the Hospital here to voice a formal complaint against the pompous, rude and full of herself wanna be Doctor, nurse practitioner who started this drama, this woman should NOT be working in healthcare, maybe being a waitress would be a better calling for her. (no offense to any waitresses out there.
