@ibmorjamn - What about a Mackie Mix-8???

I like that. Price is good.
I was admiring the presonis for all the features it has. Streaming , interface , usb card recording.

Several years ago I had plans to record drums and I bought a mixer. It still sits in the box.

Some people profess to enjoying the mixers from that company. I am not one of them.
I like my Soundcraft boards. I have the sibling of the one Robert posted on the studio wall. That is a Signature 16(a good live mixer with no USB capabilities). I have it’s sibling, the Signature 12 MTK(same general routing capabilities, with a 14 in/12 out USB interface…but smaller channel count. They are pared down children of the GB series boards. I have a GB12R-2, and the ins and outs are amazing…incredibly capable mixer…no interface capability built in. I feed the GB12R-2 direct outs to an interface regularly, and have for years.
Personally, I would also entertain boards from PreSonus, or Tascam…I really like the Tascam boards (with the interface built in) setup for home studio stuff. But that’s just me.
Those PreSonus boards spec out really well for their respective levels/sizes.

I bought the behringer years ago with even knowing what specs to look for. I still am a bit lacking in that except this conversation. I might break it out just to see what I can do with it.

I just bought a little desk top mic stand, I am trying to get up the nerve to record a vocal.
It has to be something I can find a lower register and not venture in to upper range.
I might need autotune. Lol

Problems I’ve seen with the “B” stuff is reliability related mostly. They’re often spec’d well enough. Audio qualities are hit and miss in my experience too….they have some gems, and they have some dogs. I’m speaking about models, and not unit to unit. For example: The old ADA8000 - 8 channel mic preamps to ADAT interface…they did what they were supposed to do, and did it well enough, until the power supply fried. Their patchbays are perfectly serviceable too.

Congratulations on the new mic stand! Is it one of those fancy clamp on articulating models? Or did you keep it simple?
I think @Headache has a magic box for sale that might hold some interest ;) If I hadn’t spent so much on a few things lately, I would have jumped at it immediately…just for the adventure.

The mic stand is a little desk top boom. Very simple.

I received an email from Sweetwater today that peaked my interest…the email had the version with the Dante interface built in, but it’s available without the Dante card for a bit less $. Anyway, it made me think of this thread @ibmorjamn , and this one looks pretty cool.

Mixer/interface/control surface/stereo mix recorder(to a usb stick) all in one. Nice level of I/O options. Overkill for my current needs, but very cool.

Why didn't they email me?

This thread is the perfect location. @Mr. Potato Head , here is the post! Your welcome. Lol
That thing is magic. Tons of options.
I just wish I had someone to record with it. Lol

I recently met a guy who does the FOH live audio mixing for Dwight Yokam. He loves those Yamaha mixers and swears by them. Not sure if that's what he uses with DY, but if he endorses them, I'm pretty confident they must rock.
