Thanks, and I agree with the above advice. I think intonation in the first five frets is best checked at the nut. BTWVery good catch by RVA...
Some sharpness was noted in the phrasing...now, I don't want to get too deep here and open a can of worms, but if you are playing a lot of open chords, it might pay to check your guitar's intonation along the first 5 frets. For example, my guitars are all intonated in the first 5 frets, even if the intonation if off a bit up in the higher register. In this way, all open chords are always dead-on....
Most likely, your intonation is fine and you might just be pressing a bit hard, pulling the notes sharp...
Lower frets lessen the impact of pressing hard since there is not as much room to go sharp. If your guitars have tall frets, have them brought down by someone competent to do fret levels. Thanks Ray for your comments much appreciated!! You and Robert are right, I was tense doing this recording, and yes I am pressing too hard on the strings, also when I play in front of people I want to make sure I hit the right notes. When I am just doodling around I am much better at not pressing hard. I keep working on that, and like you say when you press harder changes the sound sharp. Also as you were saying when pressing hard you don't move your hand as quick or smoothly to change Chords. I will keep working on this. Oh and no problem adding the n in Cinnamon thanks.
