Yeah Canada produced a lot of heavier bands. Triumph like @Mitch Pearrow SJMP mentioned, also gave birth to other heavier groups like Frank Marino and Mahogany Rush, Steppenwolf, April Wine, Helix, and of course, can't not mention the legendary RUSH.That's right Mitch..
in Japan, they seem to love heavy music. While I was doing a search on Zemaitis guitars I ran across this band called Band-Maid. Not what I expected to hear. Five young Japanese girls throwing down some pretty heavy stuff.
They love it so much that Paul Gilbert and Marty Friedman moved there. I think Paul came back, but Im pretty sure Marty still lives there. They are both fluent in Japanese.

Man that sounds a LOT like Venom!I have never heard of these guys till today, and thought it would fit here !!!
I love that tune, they are more than qualified.Does Exodus count? I've gone down the rabbit hole of visiting some monumental bands from back in the day and seeing what's up. Testament is next on my list. I had to stop for a bit to check out some Jimi Hendrix, but back in the heavy metal land once again.
Definitely an old school flow to them. Apparently theres a thing been going on since the late 2000s called the New Wave Of Traditional Heavy Metal (NWOTHM) and they're a part of it. Who knew? Lolyeah they are good band, I thought you will like it![]()
