Sad news to hear about Sound Garden's frontman Chris Cornell died in a Detroit hotel room after a concert with Sound Garden. Was it suicide or just a drug overdose? There are a lot of questions. Anyway RIP Chris.

I actually had to look at three different news sources to accept the fact that Chris Cornell has died. I liked him a lot with Soungarden, but it was his Audioslave band that really got me hooked into his talents.

Ironically, the last song he performed live ( yesterday in Detroit with Soungarden ) according to CNN was "In My Time Of Dying"...
"In my time of dying, I want nobody to mourn
All I want for you to do is take my body home"

R.I.P. Mr. Christopher John Boyle

So...the official word is out. It looks like he hung himself in the hotel after the show...what a waste.

I've never understood suicide and I'm glad I've never had anything happen that would make me feel the need...

To those who suffer from any sort of depression that would lead to it my heart goes out to you...

I've had suicidal tendancies in the past due to my depression and anxiety but now I want to live my life to the fullest. Taking your life away just causes suffering for people who are close to you and care about you.

In Chris Cornell's case drugs has impaired his judgement not realizing how it will affect others like family and friends. He must have been a tortured soul which explains his talent. He sang from the heart and was a down to earth person. I think fame and the dependancy on drugs was ultimately his downfall just like so many other famous people.

It's like Ozzy Osbourne's "Suicide Solution" song which was a warning about taking your own life. We all need to keep in check with our emotions and feelings or else we are doomed.

This is a real bummer. A very near and dear friend texted me about it this morning. I also had to look it up to make sure it was not a hoax. I was fortunate enough to win tickets to see him at Fox Studios in Culver City, California around 2007. My favorite song by him is "Fell on Black Days."
